FAQ – SCUOLA ITALIANA SCI DOLOMITI
Unless the office says otherwise, the meeting point is at the Tognola Ski School Area – you must take the Tognola cable car and go in front of the small wooden hut next to the Baby ski lift.
If the ski lifts are open, the lessons take place in any weather. The management can change the meeting point depending on which lifts are open.
Starting from the 2025/2026 winter season, wearing a helmet will be mandatory for all skiers and snowboarders in Italy, with no age limit. This new rule, part of the “Sport” law (DL 96/2025), extends the previous rule that only applied to people under 18. Breaking the rule may lead to fines and the removal of your ski pass.
On the first day, there is a short test at the ski school area. The instructors watch the children skiing and make groups based on their level.
Unfortunately, this is not possible. To make sure the lessons work well, only the ski instructor decides the groups based on each student’s level.
Yes. Sometimes, after the first day, a child may be moved to a higher or lower group to better match their skills.
Yes. Our partner rental is Rent&Go, located at the start of the Tognola cable car. The discount is valid only for equipment for group courses booked online on their website.
For intermediate or advanced students, a daily or morning ski pass is enough.
For beginner or first-time students (“primaneve”), please see the answer to question no. 11.
If you are late, please call the office. They will contact the instructor, who has already started the lesson. To avoid problems, please arrive at least 10 minutes early.
You can still go to the meeting point. The instructor will start when you arrive, but the lost time cannot be recovered.
No, not at first. Children under 8 years old can use the cable car for free, and first lessons take place on the free magic carpet. If needed, the ski lift can be paid per ride. The instructor will tell you later if a ski pass is needed.
Yes, it is recommended to book in advance to be sure of a place. Without a booking, a spot is not guaranteed.
Yes, all students must have complete equipment, including ski poles.
Lessons must be paid before they start. When booking, payment is required. It can be refunded if the lesson is cancelled at least 48 hours before. If cancelled later, a refund is possible only if the lesson is sold to someone else, with a €10 fee.
It’s better not to stay close, because children often behave differently when they see their parents. This can make learning harder, especially for younger kids.
No. Ski school lessons are not part of the activities that can be used for tax deductions. Only sports associations (not ski schools) qualify for that.
Usually no, but the management may decide differently after checking your specific case.
No, because teaching and learning methods are different for adults and children.
Yes, but it is valid only during the lesson (not before or after).
For private lessons, we suggest from 4 years old. Group courses also start strictly from age 4.
Yes, if the weather is good and not during Christmas or Carnival, there is a small end-of-course race for children in group lessons.
No, this is not possible, because courses and groups are organized in advance, and changes would disturb the balance of the lessons.
